What are the possible reasons for using interior door thresholds? You may have different flooring materials in rooms where you need a transition. There may be height differences in the two rooms being connected. In this case, there are thresholds with different gaps on the bottom that also overlap the higher floor. You may have 1/4”, and 1/2” differences. Other transitions may go from an abrupt 3/4” hardwood flooring heights transitioning down to to 1/4” or less.   New Style E and Style F Thresholds   We now have available our new Style E and Style F Thresholds from Hartford Building Products.   The Style E solid red oak thresholds are 3/4” thick and are made in 4 1/2” and 6 1/2” Widths, and are available in lengths from 2' -7' in increments of 1' These are the same as our Style A Thresholds, except one side has a straight 90 degree cut, only angled on one side.
